“Given this outrageous tax, we are terminating all the negotiations with Canada, which comes into force immediately. We will notify Canada of duties, which it will pay for doing business with the United States of America over the next seven days,” Trump added.
Canada tax is equal to 3% of the digital services that the company receives from Canadian users over $ 20 million of Canadian dollars ($ 14.6 million) per year.
This tax will be applied to large IT companies that are mostly American origin.
According to Bloomberg, Canada Finance Minister François-Philip Champan has previously allowed the revision of digital services in the US trade negotiations.
Earlier on Friday, Trump stated that his administration would soon be sent to the countries against which the tariffs imposed, information about how much they will need to pay within new tariffs.
