Details: Trump’s statement came after he said he had a phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Kazakhstan’s President Kasim-Jomart Tokayev.

Details: The US president added that “there is still a lot of work to be done to bring countries together for stability and growth,” adding that there is “real progress, real results.”
The Government of Kazakhstan stated that this issue is at the final stage of negotiations.
“Our intended accession to the Abraham Accords is a natural and logical continuation of Kazakhstan’s foreign policy course based on dialogue, mutual respect and regional stability,” the statement said.
Reuters notes that Kazakhstan already has diplomatic and economic ties with Israel, meaning the move would be largely symbolic, something Secretary of State Marco Rubio opposed on Thursday.
Rubio’s direct speech: “This is a strengthened relationship that goes beyond diplomatic relations.”
“This applies to … all the other countries that are parties to the agreement. You are now creating a partnership that brings special and unique economic development in all the issues that they can work on together.”
Details: Trump met with Tokayev and four other Central Asian leaders from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan at the White House on Thursday, as the US seeks to gain influence in a region long dominated by Russia and in which China has shown growing interest.
For reference: The Abraham Accords are a series of agreements on the normalization of relations between Israel and the Arab states concluded in 2020-2021 with the mediation of the United States.
These agreements provide for the establishment of diplomatic, economic and cultural ties between countries that previously did not have official relations, namely between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco.
The initial Abraham Accords were signed on September 15, 2020 by Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid al-Zayani, UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the presence of US President Donald Trump.
