Seth Jones, a political scientist and defense expert at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, called Kellogg a serious thinker whose presence in Trump’s orbit is meant to lend weight to the White House’s decisions on Ukraine. But he pointed to the Kremlin’s personal attacks on Kellogg and his plan.
“The talks haven’t even started and they’re already going after the top American involved,” he said. “It doesn’t sound good for negotiations or even a ceasefire.”
