“We spent more money than on any project and lost 38,000. lives during the construction of the Panama Canal, – said Trump, embarking on a historical excursion. – We were treated very badly because of this stupid gift (from America, – ed.), which should not have been given, and Panama broke the promise it gave us.”
According to him, the “purpose and spirit” of the agreement on the transfer of the channel were completely violated. The price for the passage of American ships is “grossly inflated and they are treated unfairly,” including the United States Navy.
Trump emphasized that China primarily exploits the Panama Canal. “And we did not give it to China. We gave it to Panama, and we are taking it back,” he stressed.
