The US president stated that “there is a very likely” that he will have a second meeting with Putin, “which will be more productive than the first, because the first is to find out where we are and what we do.”
“The second meeting, if the first goes well, will happen quickly. I would like to hold it almost immediately. And we will hold a quick second meeting between President Putin, President Zelensky and me, if they want me to be present. It will be a meeting on which it may be possible to fully resolve the issue, but some Trump said.
At the same time, the US President stressed that the second meeting may not happen at all if he decides “that it is inappropriate” because it “does not receive the answers needed.”
According to the media, Trump reported on Wednesday, August 13, to Zelensky and European leaders that his goals with the Kremlin head Vladimir Putin, who is scheduled for August 15, are to reach a truce and a better understanding of the possibility of concluding a complete peace treaty.
Zelensky stated that Trump would call him after meeting with the Kremlin head in Alaska.
Earlier, the US President expects his meeting with the Kremlin’s master on August 15 in Alaska would be “good”, but does not exclude negative results.
