The first lady of Ukraine, together with the team of the Foundation of Elena Zelenskaya, visited the Chernihiv region.
“Chernihiv region is constantly suffering from shelling by the neighboring country. Only since the beginning of this year the Russian enemy has fired at the region almost 650 times. In spite of this life, and the Foundation with the support of international donors implements important projects here: rebuilding shelters for children, providing gadgets for online training, support of the medical system and more, ”the presidential wife said.
In particular, three fast medical care was transferred during this trip. The car is part of the new support party with the assistance of Elena Zelenskaya Foundation from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). Sixty cars will be distributed between centers in Kiev and 16 regions of Ukraine. In total, Elena Zelenskaya Foundation has passed 137 fast doctors. The donors of the project were also the governments of the United Arab Emirates, South Korea and Slovenia.
“Due to the provision of so many ambulances, almost 25 % of the needs of the entire emergency medical care system in Class B’s cars in 2025 will be provided,” Vitaliy Krylyuk, Head of the Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Center for Emergency Medical Aid and Catastrophe Medicine, said the Ministry Health of Ukraine.
In addition, together with the team of the Foundation and the Acting Ambassador of Latvia to Ukraine, Madar Silineu, Olena Zelenska, handed 628 gadgets for online teaching of students from 12 Chernihiv communities.
“We are very grateful to our partner friends from Latvia-Ziedot.lv-with the support of Ukrainian education. This is the second party of the devices from this donor. In 2024, the Foundation handed over 672 laptops for students from four communities of Chernihiv region, ”said Nina Gorbachev, director of the Foundation of the Foundation of Elena Zelenskaya.
Thanks to the support of partners, the Foundation has provided more than 65,000 students and teachers with tablets and laptops.
Separately, the Foundation team examined one of the schools, which is underway, which can accommodate more than 200 children. The Foundation finances the restoration of this facility with the support of a new partner – the Government of the ALANDS ORDER. In total, at least 12 shelves in different regions will be restored as part of cooperation. All these objects have already been selected by the Foundation team.
In addition, Elena Zelenska, together with the Foundation team, the UN Secretary General Representative for Violence against Children Mjit and UNICEF, the head of the UNICEF representation in Ukraine, visited one of the major foster families of IDPs from Kharkiv. This family has recently purchased a new home in Chernihiv with seven children.
The families were transferred to humanitarian aid, including a refrigerator, freezer, drying and dishwasher, microwave, vacuum cleaner, battery, and gadgets for children for online training.
