As a result of the explosion, four people died, including three women aged 29, 58 and 82. Another 12 people were injured. The incident occurred at around 10:50 a.m., when employees of the State Border Service were checking the documents of the passengers of the diesel train.
As a result of the detonation of an unknown explosive device, a border guard and two civilians were killed, two more servicemen from the outfit and ten civilians were injured. The explosion was carried out by a man during a document check in the controlled border area at the Ovruch railway station. The victims were immediately given first aid. The person who detonated the explosive device died in the ambulance.
It has been previously established that the man who carried out the detonation was a resident of Kharkiv and was recently detained for attempting to violate the state border on the western part of the state border. Urgent investigative actions are currently underway.
Investigative teams and explosives technicians are working at the scene of the explosion. The suspect, a 23-year-old resident of Kharkiv, was recently detained for attempting to violate the state border. He died in the explosion. Law enforcement officers continue to investigate the event, which caused a wide public outcry and concern.
