Ukraine is waiting for the results of negotiations with the EU regarding joint customs and customs control at the border already this year, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said during the government meeting, reports UNN.

“We are continuing negotiations on joint customs and border control at the border with the EU. We are expecting the first results already this year,” Shmyhal said.

The Prime Minister said that the European Commission is now evaluating our potential agreement with Poland. After agreeing on the technical issues, we will be able to use this developed model for our other EU member neighbors.

This year, according to Shmyhal, the eCherga system will also be improved. For more than 2 years, almost 1.6 million trucks and buses have crossed crowns using this system.

Further modernization of checkpoints is also planned. Shmyhal reminded that the Strategy for the development of border infrastructure with the EU and Moldova until 2030 was approved last year. It provides for the reconstruction of 28 checkpoints, as well as the construction of at least six new ones.
