This was stated by the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, in an interview with Politico.

According to him, the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is not in the mood to conclude an agreement with Ukraine. He added that Trump risks collapsing the Ukrainian front lines if the US stops giving weapons to Kyiv.

Kuleba believes that Russia’s allies act much more decisively than Ukraine’s partners. He told reporters that Western countries have often been inconsistent and unreliable in terms of support.

In addition, Putin is not ready to end the war in Ukraine, Kuleba added. The diplomat is sure that the Russian dictator still wants to destroy our country.

“Putin still believes he can destroy Ukrainian statehood and crush Ukraine as an independent democracy, and believes he is one step away from making the West look weak. Ukraine is Putin’s personal obsession, but crushing Ukraine is also a means to an end his big goal is to show the whole world that the West is not capable of defending itself or what it stands for,” explained the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

During the election campaign, Trump promised to end the war in Ukraine and boasted that he could do it in one day, the journalists recalled. In October, Vice President-elect JD Vance shared that the new US president’s deal would most likely include territorial concessions to Russia and the creation of a demilitarized zone.

Kuleba said that this plan would not work. According to him, Putin is not interested in diplomacy and is instead trying to wear out the West. In addition, the diplomat emphasized that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi will not sign such an agreement either:

“The Russians keep Donbas, they keep Crimea, no membership in NATO. Can Zelenskyi sign the agreement? He can’t because of the Constitution. And because it will be the political end of Zelenskyi.”

The diplomat refused to comment on his resignation. However, he spoke about what the government of Ukraine should do.

“Zelensky must return strong people to his government,” Kuleba said.

Trump’s peace plan – the latest newsEarlier, Chancellor of Austria Karl Nehammer offered the new US President Donald Trump a platform for negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. He shared that he got the impression that the Republican “thinks about ending the war very emotionally and in a positive way.”

In addition, experts said that Trump wants to quickly end the war in Ukraine, but this is unlikely. The global situation in the world has changed since the last Republican presidency and has become less favorable to his style of making deals.
