“Yesterday, the enemy launched one missile and 51 air strikes, used one missile and dropped 151 guided air bombs. In addition, it carried out 3,508 attacks, including 49 from rocket-propelled salvo systems, and involved 6,237 kamikaze drones for destruction… Over the past day, aviation and missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces hit four areas of concentration and two enemy control points,” the morning summary stated.
Most of the fighting was recorded in four directions in the Donetsk region and one in the Zaporizhia region.
“On the Lymanskyi direction, the enemy attacked 15 times, trying to penetrate our defenses in the areas of Novovodyane, Myrne, Kolodyazi, Zarichne, Novoyehorivka, Novoselivka and Yampil settlements.
In the direction of Kostyantynivka, the enemy carried out 15 attacks in the areas of Oleksandr-Shultyny, Pleshchiivka, Rusyny Yar, Yablunivka, Shcherbinivka, and in the direction of Torske.
In the Pokrovsky direction, our defenders stopped 23 assault actions of the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Nove Shakhove, Rodynske, Chervyn Liman, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske and in the direction of Novopavlivka.
Yesterday, the enemy carried out 12 attacks in the Oleksandrivskyi direction in the areas of Zeleny Gay, Oleksandrograd, Vorone, Verbove, Vyshneve and Rybne settlements.
In the Gulyaipil direction, our defenders stopped 14 enemy attempts to advance in the areas of the settlements of Solodke, Gulyaipole and in the direction of Zeleny,” the message reads.
Battles also continued in the South-Slobozhansk, Slavyansk, Orihiv and Dnieper directions.
According to the American Institute for the Study of War, Russian forces increased their average rate of advance in 2025 thanks to the new operational pattern, but did not achieve their priority objectives in the specified time frames.
On December 17, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that the enemy had increased the group to the number of about 710,000 soldiers in order to conduct a strategic offensive operation.
According to him, the Russian troops have been trying to capture Pokrovsk in Donetsk region for more than 17 months, but Ukrainian units are holding the defense and intercepting the initiative.
