Vodokanal literally: “The yard sewage networks served by Kyivvodokanal are laid deeper than the level of soil freezing. Waste water has a positive temperature and is constantly moving, so such networks cannot freeze.”

Details: At the same time, the KP added that the pipes that go directly from the house to the first sewage well belong to the internal systems, the maintenance of which is the responsibility of the building balancers, not “Kyivvodokanal”.
“In the Troyeshchyna microdistrict and in Kyiv in general, sewerage networks work stably, in regular mode and provide uninterrupted water drainage, in particular, during power outages,” the message says.
The KP emphasized that so far no cases of complete or partial freezing of sewage pipes have been recorded.
“The idea of arranging temporary street toilets or cesspools is not expedient and has no real basis. We ask you to trust official information and not to panic. We constantly monitor the operation of the networks and inform you about the real state of affairs,” the water utility assured.
What happened before: The other day, the head of the Desnyan district administration, Maksym Bakhmatov, said that in case of freezing of sewer pipes in Troeshchyna, pits will be dug and street toilets will be installed “like in the village”.
