Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with French President Emmanuel Macron in Brussels on Wednesday, December 18. They discussed the possibility of sending a peacekeeping contingent to Ukraine.
Zelenskyi told journalists about this, writes the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
“As for the peacekeepers, we spoke with Emmanuel (Macron) his old idea. We support the idea of strengthening Ukraine, and you understand that. The issue here is the details, we are discussing these details,” Zelenskyy told reporters in Brussels.

The leaders also discussed military aid and the needs of Ukrainian soldiers at the front. The president’s office reported that Zelensky handed Macron a list of the necessary weapons, in particular, to strengthen air defense and long-range capabilities.
The President of Ukraine also thanked France for the military support and training of the Anna Kyiv Brigade. Ukraine is counting on the start of training of the second brigade of the strategic reserve, the message says.
This was the eighth meeting between Zelenskyi and Macron since the beginning of the year.
