There is a medal for Ukraine. Zakharev made it to the semi-finals of the World Boxing Cup

From November 16 to 20, the final series of the Boxing World Cup is held in the Indian city of Greater Noida under the auspices of World Boxing, an international sports organization that regulates amateur boxing.

More than 130 boxers from 19 countries took part in the tournament, who will compete for twenty sets of awards – ten each for men and women. No more than eight participants will compete in each weight category, the competition will begin with the 1/4 final stage.

Representative of Ukraine Yuriy Zakharev had a successful start at the Cup in India – the boxer defeated Chavei Kan from Taiwan by split decision. The fight took place in the limit of the weight category up to 70 kg.

In one of the episodes, Zahareev knocked down his opponent, but the referee ignored this moment.

In the semi-finals, the opponent of the Ukrainian will be Kazakh boxer Nurbek Mursal, who defeated Ikhtiar Nishonov from Kyrgyzstan. The match for the finals will take place on November 19.

Zakharev guaranteed a medal in Ukraine’s coffers – there are no matches for third place at the World Cup, so all semi-finalists will receive at least a bronze award.
