The head of state noted that this is proposed by people who have not experienced the war, do not understand its consequences and risks for themselves, as well as those who communicate with Putin, but have never fought with him.
“Just a ceasefire is the model today that we can hear from some of the leaders here, from Brazil, from China, and it’s important that we certainly hear that from Russia. This is a great model for the Russian Federation. Ceasefire and then another? It is necessary to clearly understand what “other” is, Volodymyr Zelenskyy explained.
The President recalled that after the beginning of Russian aggression against Ukraine in 2014, there were already agreements on a ceasefire.
“There was not even an exchange of prisoners. People have been in prison for 10 years. After the ceasefire, the conflict was frozen,” he stressed.
At the same time, Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the results of the summit of the European Political Community included defense agreements on the strengthening of Ukrainian soldiers, as well as positive aspects of strengthening air defense before the start of winter.
In addition, according to the President, the number of countries supporting Ukraine is increasing.
“We had the inaugural Peace Summit, where more than 100 countries and international institutions were present. A fairly large number of countries that voted in the UN for resolutions against Russian aggression, in support of Ukraine, is more than 140. This is the number of countries that support Ukraine, oppose Russian aggression, and recognize the territorial integrity and sovereignty of any independent country.” , – noted the Head of State.
