On Sunday, November 17, at approximately 20:37, Russian troops launched a powerful rocket attack on the city of Sumy. This was reported by Sumy OVA.
The ballistic missile probably hit a densely populated residential neighborhood of the city.
“Rocket hit a nine-story building in Sumy. All the necessary services are already in place, a rescue operation is underway,” the message of the President of Ukraine reads.
According to him, it is known about the dead and wounded, among whom there are children.
“My condolences to the families and loved ones. The criminal must be punished for killing innocent people,” the head of state emphasized.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Sumy Oblast reported that as of 10:00 p.m., 8 people were killed, including one child, and 10 local residents were injured as a result of the enemy’s attack.
At least 10 high-rise buildings and vehicles were damaged, the number of which is currently being determined.
As ArmiyaInform reported, on the night of November 17, the Russian occupiers carried out a massive combined attack on the facilities of the energy sector of Ukraine with various types of air-, land- and sea-based missiles, as well as shahed type UAVs.
