As a result, after several competitions in the second half of 2024, Ukrenergo involved investors in the construction of about 600 MW of shunting capacities. For the most part, these are the energy accumulation systems that need to be commissioned in the fall. Of these, 140 MWh is accepted according to the results of Ukrenergo special auctions for working on the auxiliary services market. Investments in the entire project will amount to 140 million euros. The supplier will be Fluence, a subsidiary of AES and Siemens, which has built more than 30 GW of energy storage facilities in the US and Europe. The manufacturer has all the necessary equipment and therefore our task is to deliver the components in a timely manner. Fortunately, this does not require complex logistics, as in the case of oversized wind power equipment – towers or shovels. The main installation work on our pages in Ukraine will last 3-4 months and should end until October. Although the terms are very short, we plan to do everything on time. Thus, in the next heating season, 2025-2026, the country should enter several hundred megawatts of industrial “Poerbank”. Conditionally, it is like a Kakhovka hydroelectric power station or a pair of TPP units. The “Supbank” will accumulate and store surplus electricity and instantly release them on the command of the dispatchers. For its part, the Gas Generation is able to burn gas and convert it to electricity to quickly add the required power to the grid. These energy objects are more resistant to shelling. They are different in power, spread throughout the country, not concentrated in one place as hundreds of coal megawatts or hydrogeneration. Energy conservation installations will stabilize the energy network and, most importantly, help the development of renewable energy. When the state supports investors, the result does not wait long. And this allows to build technological, “green” and innovative energy facilities in Ukraine, which strengthen the power system and make it more resistant to shelling.
