“Putin overestimates his positions. The whole world is waiting for him to finally demand to sit at the negotiation table with a delegation that corresponds to the severity of the situation,” Vadeful said at a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Antalya.
According to the German minister, Zelensky’s readiness for direct dialogue with Putin deserves respect. But on the Russian side “there are no signs of a serious approach to negotiations.” In this regard, he warned that such behavior would not remain without consequences, hinting that Europe was already discussing the strengthening of sanctions.
Negotiations in IstanbulThere will be talks between Ukraine and the Russian Federation on the end of the war. Zelensky invited direct negotiations the day before. However, he refused and instead sent his assistants not the highest rank. According to WSJ, this step has questioned the very possibility of negotiations between the parties.
