This year the country has received more money, but this is still not enough.
The Minister of Finance noted that Ukraine needs to find more than 16 billion euros next year of the war / photo UNIAN, Viktor KovalchukUkraine must prepare for the continuation of the war, and to meet its needs should find an additional 16 billion euros. Finance Minister Sergey Marchenko announced this at the YES-2025 conference.
When asked by a panel discussion moderator, what would he wish if he had a magic wand in his hands, Marchenko replied: more money.
“Easy to answer: money. We need more money than this year. Because the war is ongoing. We have not yet seen the last stage of this war. We must prepare our military, our people for another year of war,” Marchenko warns.
The Minister of Finance noted that Ukraine needs approximately EUR 16 billion. He expressed his hope that Western partners will help find the right funding.
Ukraine’s needs for additional funding: ImportantEarlier, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Roksolana Podlas, Ukraine will need to allocate at least $ 120 billion to Ukraine next year.
Already from the budget it goes to financing the needs of the Armed Forces and families of servicemen $ 172 million. Last year, this figure was $ 140 million.
At the same time, according to the International Monetary Fund, Ukraine’s needs for additional financing by 2027 can be $ 47.5 – $ 57.5 billion. The government assures that this figure is $ 10-20 billion lower.
The parties should overcome the differences before the IMF makes a decision to grant a new loan to Ukraine. Money under the current credit program is almost exhausted.
