The victories brought results: Ukraine rose in the updated FIFA ranking

Today, October 17, FIFA updated its national team rankings after the completion of another round of 2026 World Cup qualifying matches.

The October international window turned out to be productive for the national team of Ukraine. Serhiy Rebrov’s wards won two victories, beating Iceland (5:3) and Azerbaijan (2:1) in the qualification for the 2026 World Cup.

Thanks to this success, the “blue and yellow” rose one position, currently occupying the 27th place in the rating. Ukraine overtook Canada, which dropped to 28th place.

The current European champion, represented by Spain, remained the leader of the rating. Argentina overtook France in the race for second place, Brazil lost sixth place to the Netherlands, and Italy and Germany knocked Croatia out of the Top 10.

We will remind that UAF President Andriy Shevchenko expressed full confidence in the head coach of the Ukrainian national team Serhiy Rebrov.

Earlier it became known that UAF appealed to UEFA regarding Russia’s plans to certify “Shakhtar” and “Zorya” for participation in its championship.
