A special program will be developed in Odessa to provide compensation to the families of the dead and residents who were affected by the large -scale bad weather on September 30.
This was stated Alexei Kuleb During a joint briefing in Odessa, transmits Ukrinform.
Alexei Kuleba emphasized the need to inventory and process the number of victims and determine the assistance they need. He appealed to the mayor of Odessa to urgently create a program that will provide compensation for the lost property, in particular, will help people buy destroyed equipment, especially the heating boilers needed for winter.
A hotline should also be created from the city for victims. Oleg Kiper added that at a meeting with the mayor Gennady Trukhanov already considered the issue of compensation for losses to the families of the dead.
Kuleba noted that the drainage system of the city did not cope with the amount of rainfall, so a separate commission will be created on the basis of the OVA. It will include representatives of the city authorities, the police and the SES, who should find out the reasons that led to the tragedy and analyze the decisions made.
Work on eliminating the consequences of bad weather will last for another week. SES Chairman Andriy Danyk confirmed that the search operation continues due to a large number of flooded areas, and the SES units from neighboring regions have already arrived in Odessa.
According to him, the work will be done in 24/7 mode, since the forecasts of weather forecasters on Friday again may be strong downpour. The priority of rescuers is the pumping of water from shelters, kindergartens and parking.
Oleg Kiper, the head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration, announced on October 2 in the territory of the region the day of mourning in connection with the tragic death of nine people in Odessa due to bad weather.
On the night of September 30, Odessa covered a heavy downpour, which turned the streets into rivers and paralyzed traffic in different parts of the city.
