According to him, 2026 could be a turning point for Ukraine. Komorovsky believes that the only hope for Kyiv is the European Union and Great Britain, which can replace American support.
“It seems to me that, unfortunately, the form of Putin’s victory, the recognition of his success in this war, is being prepared. Putin will increase his influence and support not only inside Russia, but will also try to take advantage of these concessions on political and territorial issues to continue the restoration of the Russian empire,” Komorovsky said.
The ex-president of Poland noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and European leaders chose the tactic of praising US President Donald Trump at every convenient opportunity, despite the American leader’s strange statements. Komorovsky believes that this tactic can be effective, since the West has so far managed to “pluck the head of Washington from Putin’s arms.”
