On Wednesday, October 22, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate celebrates the 30th anniversary of the enthronement of Patriarch Filaret.
This was reported by the press service of the UOC KP.
On the occasion of the holiday, solemn services will be held in the Volodymyr Patriarchal Cathedral (Kyiv, 20 Taras Shevchenko Boulevard) with the participation of Patriarch Filaret, bishops and clergy of the Kyiv Patriarchate. Services will also be broadcast online on the church’s YouTube channel.
Schedule of services:
-
October 18 at 5:00 p.m. – All-night vigil
-
October 19 at 10:00 a.m. – Divine Liturgy and greetings of Patriarch Filaret
Despite the fact that the UOC KP had to cease its existence after the Unification Council, the church continues its activities. Patriarch Filaret remains active: he conducts religious services, meets with politicians, leaders of other churches, diplomats and lay people.
We will remind you that Patriarch Filaret sued the Ministry of Culture, which removed the Kyiv Patriarchate of the UOC KP from state registration.
Filaret also talked about the connections of the Ukrainian church with the special services.
