The Department of Defense has approved a new military standard for Survival, Capture Avoidance, Captivity Endurance and Evacuation (SERE) training with three levels of difficulty. About this UNN reports with reference to the Ministry of Defense.

The training will consist of three levels: basic, intermediate and advanced, each of which has its own specific tasks and training methods.

The new standards are developed on the basis of the NATO standard and take into account the national characteristics and combat experience of Ukraine acquired during the repulsion of the aggression of the Russian Federation.

The military will undergo specialized training in the following main areas:

– search and rescue activity;

-survival;

– avoiding capture;

-stability in captivity;

– preparation for evacuation;

-retraining.

Defenders will gain practical survival skills in a variety of environments, including arctic, tropical, mountain and desert areas. Special attention is paid to the organization of search and rescue operations for the effective evacuation of isolated personnel.

The training will be conducted by SERE instructors who will undergo regular retraining.
