The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that the troops of the aggressor country Russia are conducting intensive offensive operations in the Kursk region for the third day and are actively using the North Korean military.

“For the third day, the enemy is carrying out intensive offensive actions on the territory of the Kursk region, actively using units of the North Korean army,” he noted.
Syrskyi also reported that North Korean mercenaries have already suffered heavy losses.

On December 14, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that the North Korean troops, which Russia began using in assaults in Kurshchyna in November 2024, had already suffered their first losses as a result of successful attacks by the Defense Forces.
On December 15, the commander of the air reconnaissance unit, Robert Brovdi, with the call sign Magyar, published a video on his Telegram channel, in which, according to him, you can see the bodies of 22 people killed in the Kursk region during the December 14 assault by North Korean and Russian troops.
Journalists of the Radio Liberty Schema project published pictures obtained from sources among military personnel in the Kursk direction, which show several dozen bodies against the background of broken equipment.
Sources claim that these images show the results of several assaults, and among the dead are soldiers from North Korea.
A December 15 report by the Institute for the Study of War confirmed that North Korean regime forces faced difficulties caused by heavy losses in battles against the Ukrainian Defense Forces and a language barrier.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that the Russian military is trying to burn the faces of dead North Korean soldiers who participated in battles against Ukrainian troops in order to hide their losses.
