The trailer of a new body of Government from the winner of Cann Julia Ducorno

Frame from the movie “Alfa” / Screenshot with YouTubeThe Ukrainian Alfa Body Trailer (Alpha) was released by French director Julia Ducuk, who received the “Golden Palm Branch” of the Cannes Film Festival for her previous movie “Titan”, filmed in the same genre in 2021.

The new film director tells the story of 13-year-old Alfa, who returns home with a tattoo, and her mother-doctor realizes that the girl could become infected with an unknown disease that turns people into marble statues. In order to survive in the new world where fear prevails, the family must overcome the trials and delve into the history of their family.

The leading roles in the tape were played by French -speaking actors Melissa Boss, Golshifte Farhans (“The Body of Lies”, “Peterson”, “Evacuation”) and Thakham Rahim (“Moorish”, “Napoleon”, “Madame Spututa”). The tape became a real professional test for them – for example, Rakhim had to radically lose weight for the sake of this role.

Emma Maki also starred in the movie – the star of the series “Sexual Education”, as well as the films “Death to Nile” and “Barbie”.

The film’s world premiere took place at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where he received ambiguous critics reviews – the ribbon reviews varied between the captured and the devastating ones.

Currently, an IMDB movie rating is 5.9 out of 10 points, while on Rotten Tomatoes, it received 50% of critics approval. At the same time, at Metacritic, movie experts rated it at 47 out of 100 points, which corresponds to the characteristics of “mixed or medium reviews”.

According to Adastra Cinema, the press service of Adastra Cinema, which is a distributor of the tape in Ukraine, the date of its release on the screen of cinemas will become known later. However, they promise that it will happen “soon”.
