The Supreme Court confirmed the judgment of the previous instance by Gauliter of Kherson Region Vladimir Baldo. He received 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

“Prosecutors of the Attorney General’s office defended in the Supreme Court a punishment for the so -called” head of the military -civilian administration of Kherson region “, convicted for state treason, collaborative activity and denial of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine,” – the message reads.
As it is noted, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property, as well as deprivation of the right to occupy positions related to organizational and administrative and administrative and economic powers at enterprises, institutions and organizations of all forms of ownership, for a period of 15 years.
It was proved that the convicted person, who was a citizen of Ukraine and the deputy of the Kherson city council of the 8th convocation, deliberately switched to the side of the enemy and participated in the creation of an illegal occupation body-the so-called “military-civil administration of Kherson region”. He occupied a management position, ensured its functioning, organized structure and staffing.
In addition, Gaulayter voluntarily gave his housing to representatives of military formations of the Russian Federation for the placement of officers, publicly supported the decisions and actions of the aggressor state, denied the fact of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and occupation of part of its territory.
The Supreme Court agreed with the prosecutor’s arguments on the correct qualification of the convicted person’s actions and found a punishment with a fair measure of coercion.
Criminal proceedings were considered in the manner of special court proceedings in the absence of the accused (in absentia).
