For the first time in the history of Ukraine, the funds received from auctions for industrial fishing were sent to the state budget to finance the strength of reservoirs. Previously, this money came solely to local budgets.
The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitaly Koval has informed about it.
He noted that within the framework of the new budget program “Measures for the introduction of aquatic bioresources into fishery water bodies” the budget has already transferred UAH 3.38 million. These funds were received from bidding for the right of special use of aquatic bioresources, which were conducted for 2025.
“This step is crucial for the development of Ukrainian aquaculture. The received funds will be the basis for the restoration of fish populations, increasing the fish productivity of reservoirs, maintaining ecosystem balance and improving the biological state of reservoirs, ”Koval emphasized.
The Minister also added that this area is part of the state import substitution policy, which is aimed at ensuring the use of Ukrainian products in procurement for government agencies.
