At the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Staff meeting, they decided to significantly increase the efficiency of the “Drone Line” by strengthening management and attracting additional resources.
According to the Secretary of the National Security Council Rustem Umyerov, the key priority is the development of the technological component of the Defense Forces for the first half of 2026. The main focus will be on the mass production of drones using fiber optics, as this technology provides higher accuracy of damage and resistance to electronic warfare.
The Ministry of Defense was instructed to optimize the distribution of funding and find new sources of funds to provide the front with the necessary means of destruction. Particular attention was paid to the analysis of the strategic plans of the enemy, in particular the actions that Russia is preparing in the coming months. Intelligence presented a report on the prospects of the military and political situation, which became the basis for the expansion of the unmanned component of the Ukrainian army.
The introduction of new technologies is considered a critical factor in deterring Russian aggression and systematically strengthening defense capabilities. At the meeting, it was emphasized that a clear distribution of resources between different types of drones will cover the most urgent needs of the military on the front lines. The adopted steps are aimed not only at quantitative growth, but also at a qualitative advantage due to the introduction of innovative solutions in the field of UAV control.
A year ago, then Defense Minister Rustem Umyerov announced the launch of the “revolutionary” project “Drone Line”, which was supposed to stop the advance of the Russians. It is about combining infantry and UAVs into a single strike system.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, announced the decision to allocate an additional 8 billion UAH for the strengthening and development of the large-scale defense project “Drone Line”.
