President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi had a telephone conversation with Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz.
The head of state thanked for all the heavy military support from the Federal Republic of Germany and its leadership in uniting the efforts of partners to help Ukraine.
The President of Ukraine and the Chancellor of Germany discussed the continuation of defense cooperation. Olaf Scholz reported that the sixth of the planned IRIS-T air defense systems will arrive in Ukraine by the end of this year. Attention was also paid to the supply of anti-aircraft defense systems for the next year and possible additional help with air defense equipment from Germany.
During the conversation, the leaders focused on what other efforts are needed for the best defense and political support of Ukraine, and also coordinated joint steps for the near future. In particular, they agreed that the Rammstein format should be preserved. It is also important to hold another meeting of the coordination group.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also stated that the Ukrainian vision of a just and lasting peace should be presented at the G20 meeting in Brazil, and thanked for the fact that Ukraine can count on Germany in this regard.
