Italian tennis player Jasmine Paoliniwho is ranked seventh in the WTA rankings, has made a confident start at the 2026 Australian Open.

In the first round, the Italian defeated the “neutral” in two sets Alexander Sasnovich (WTA 102) in 1 hour and 10 minutes, giving only three games.

Paolini played against Sasnovych for the second time in her career and won for the first time.

Alexandra qualified for the Australian Open, where she beat Ukrainian Daria Snigur in the final round.

Jasmin will fight either Veronika Eryavets or Magdalen Frenkh in the second round of the Australian major.
