It emphasized the importance of funding for Purl, which provides for the purchase of weapons in the US for the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Hetmanchuk noted that at the moment six NATO member states have already confirmed their contributions, but work is continuing to attract additional countries and increase their contributions. A meeting at NATO headquarters, scheduled for October 15, organized by the United Kingdom and Germany, is an important step towards stable funding for the Ukrainian army.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his hope for receiving monthly military assistance under Purl worth about one billion dollars. In addition, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Andriy Sibiga also confirmed that additional seven countries intend to join the initiative in the near future.
On Wednesday, October 15, a new meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine in format will be held in NATO headquarters in Brussels in Brussels Ramstein.
