In the northern part of the arsenal, more than half of the ammunition storage facilities burned out, the southern part was almost undamaged.
Earlier, not far from this place, there was also an explosion at the 107th arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate in Toropka.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed the attack on the Tikhoretsk arsenal and announced the destruction of more than 2,000 tons of ammunition, including from North Korea. The General Staff notes that this warehouse “is one of the three largest ammunition storage bases and is one of the key ones in the logistics system of the Russian troops.”
After the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, combat drones regularly fly into Russian regions, resulting in destruction and casualties. The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that the attacks are being carried out from the Ukrainian side.
Kyiv claimed that the strikes on Russia were aimed at military, energy and transport infrastructure, which are key to Moscow’s war effort.
Russian authorities almost never report the full extent of damage caused by Ukrainian strikes.
