The products produced at this enterprise were loaded onto tankers of the “Shadow Fleet of the Russian Federation” and secretly sold in different parts of the world,” the report says.
According to law enforcement officials, Moscow directed most of the profits received from shadow trade to finance the war in Ukraine.
Thus, in the Kyiv region, the SBU detained the equipment developer and the design engineer of the holding, who participated in the construction of the Russian plant. Both participants developed the entire project documentation of the production facility and its technological capacities. They sent ready-made designs to Russian customers through the co-owner of the Ukrainian holding, which is located in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region.
According to the case file, he owns five companies in Shakhty of the Rostov region of, which supply equipment to gas stations of the sanctioned corporations Gazprom and Lukoil.
In the Poltava region, his accomplice was detained, who has his own network of gas stations in the temporarily captured part of the territory in the east of Ukraine and refuels the military equipment of the invaders.
As reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, the equipment developer and design engineer, as well as the entrepreneur, were informed of the suspicion of aiding the aggressor state under Part 1 Art. 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The co-owner of the holding, who lives in the Russian Federation, and the director of the gas station network, who lives in the temporarily captured part of Donetsk region, were notified of suspicions in absentia.
Three suspects were remanded in custody.
