The Security Service prevented the Dnieper terrorist attack. According to the results of the special operation, an enemy agent group was detained, which at the request of the Russian Federation tried to undermine the former law enforcement officer from the regional center.

Three agents were involved in committing the crime: a 52-year-old nurse from Vinnytsia region, as well as 26-year-old unemployed Kharkiv and his 20-year-old girlfriend. According to the case file, they were recruited through a telegram for the search for “fast earnings”.
As the investigation established, the Ukrainian veteran was going to be liquidated with a homemade explosive device (SVP), which the resident of Vinnytsia had to activate when the man approached his garage.
The SBU counterintelligence detained the defendant “on the hot” when she was preparing to bring explosives into action by means of remote control. A couple of Russian agents from Kharkiv was detained immediately afterwards. According to the instructions of the enemy, they arrived in Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk, where they took away the SVP from a pre -prepared shroud.
Then they came to the Dnieper and left the explosive in a rented apartment. After that, both agents returned to Kharkiv to “lie down to the bottom” and expect further instructions from the curator from the Russian Federation. Before leaving, the couple hid the keys to the apartment on the territory of the flowerbed near the house for the agent from Vinnytsia. Behind this location, the woman took the SVP and installed it at the stipulated garage in the yard, where the veteran-law enforcement officer lives.
Currently, investigators of the Security Services have informed all the 3rd detainees of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (completed attempt on a terrorist act). The attackers are in custody. They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The special operation was conducted by SBU staff in the Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural guidance of the Dniprovsky Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the field of defense of the Eastern region.
