On the right bank of the Kherson region, seven more collaborators who collaborated with the Russian invaders during the occupation of the region were detained.
After the liberation of the regional center, the accused tried to avoid justice, and one of them was going to flee abroad. The rest minimized their contacts and almost did not leave the house to “lay down.”
Together with the National Police, SBU employees detained two Kherson residents who were “chief accountants” in the temporarily occupied city – one in the regional hospital, and the other in the administration of Gauleiter Volodymyr Saldo.
According to his instructions, female collaborators transferred all the property of captured state institutions to the benefit of the Russian Federation and introduced a “ruble” zone.
Another detainee is a local businessman who, after the occupation of the port city with the permission of the occupiers, set up a currency exchange point where he bought hryvnias in exchange for Russian rubles. Through such controlled “financiers”, the enemy hoped to completely remove the official currency of Ukraine from circulation in the region.
Three collaborators called on local residents to “vote for joining” the region to the Russian Federation.
Together with them, another agitator of “racism” was detained, who from the stage of the Bilozer community spoke in support of the occupying groups of Russia.
At present, all those involved have been notified of suspicion (according to the crimes committed) under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- h 2 Art. 28, ch. 4, 5 and ch. 6 Art. 111-1 (collaborative activity committed by a group of persons based on prior collusion);
- h 1 Art. 111-2 (assistance to the aggressor state);
- h 1 Art. 436-2 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
Perpetrators face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Previously, the Holosiivsky District Court of Kyiv convicted a businesswoman from Crimea in absentia for the illegal removal of 500 children from the occupied territories. For this, she was sentenced to three years in prison.
In addition, SBI employees completed a pre-trial investigation into a former employee of “Daryivska Colony”, who worked for the invaders during the occupation of Kherson Oblast.
