The SBU detained a couple that prepared terrorist attacks at the Tax Code, the Prosecutor’s Office and the Police in the Kyiv region

The Security Service of Ukraine detained a 27-year-old drug addict and his cohabitant, which prepared terrorist attacks in the buildings of the prosecutor’s office, police and TCC in the Kiev region.

Details: According to law enforcement officers, Russian intelligence services recruited a 27-year-old drug addict and his cohabitant, who sought “light” money through telegram channels.

The SBU reports that the couple, at the instructions of the Russian FSB, settled in a hostel near Kiev and began to prepare a homemade explosive device. To do this, they purchased chemical components for the synthesis of explosive substance, as well as metal bolts and aluminum chips. The attackers planned to hide the explosive in the fire extinguisher.

Then the couple had to get a geolocation from Russian curators for a terrorist attack. The main goals for this were police departments, shopping center buildings and prosecutors in the Kiev region.

The SBU detained the malefactors during the production of explosive components. They were informed about suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack and illegal production of explosives. They face up to 12 years in prison.
