The counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine detained the agent of the Russian special services, who had to commit a cargo train in the Rivne region and collected data on the objects of defense forces in Lviv region.

It was established that in the Rivne region the attacker tried to lay a homemade explosive device under the railway track, which is used for freight transportation.
Russian invaders planned to remove explosives remotely during the movement of the train and thus disrupt the supply of military assistance to the front.
The SBU detained the attacker directly during the installation of explosives.
The Russian agent was an unemployed 23-year-old resident of Lviv region, who was already held accountable for vandalism at the burial grounds of the Ukrainian military.
In the field of view of the FSB of the Russian Federation, he got as an ideological supporter of Rashism and because of his desire to go to Russia, which he repeatedly wrote on social networks.
According to the investigation, the person involved with a step -by -step instruction from Russian curators: to arrive in the Rivne region, to pick up the explosives from the shroud and to install it according to certain coordinates on the tracks.
During the investigation, the evidence was obtained by the person with another task – he collected information about the places of base of defense units in Lviv region.
Investigators reported the detainee about the suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111, Part 2 of Art. 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (State betrayal committed in martial law; diversion committed in martial law).
The attacker is in custody. He is threatened with life imprisonment with the confiscation of property.
Earlier, law enforcement officers detained a Russian agent who was preparing a terrorist attack in the center of Kiev. She planned to blow up explosives near the SBU building.
