Law enforcement officers discovered new circumstances in the case of a border breach in the Kharkiv region and detained the former commander of the “Kharkiv” OTU Yuriy Galushkin.
This is reported by the SBI.
As part of the investigation of the criminal case regarding the negligence of commanders during the defense of part of the territory of the Lypetsk village community of Kharkiv district, it was established that the ex-commander of OTU “Kharkiv” inadequately assessed the potential of the enemy and the situation in the area of responsibility. By his actions, he contributed to the arbitrary abandonment of positions by the soldiers of the 125th separate brigade of the TRO.
“The commander ignored the available intelligence, considering the Russian offensive in this area unlikely. Accordingly, his orders did not correspond to the real situation, which ultimately led to tragic consequences at the front,” the message states.
Due to these miscalculations in the command, as well as the voluntary withdrawal of soldiers and individual units of the 125th TrO brigade, the enemy was able to penetrate into the defensive strip for a distance of up to 10 km. This gave the Russians the opportunity to resume artillery shelling of Kharkiv.
As a result of such actions, almost 100 Ukrainian soldiers were wounded, killed or went missing on the first day of the enemy’s offensive.
Yuriy Galushkin has already been charged with 5th century 27 and Art. 429 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (assistance in voluntary abandonment of the battlefield or refusal to act with weapons).
On January 20, the SBU and the SBU detained the former commander of the 155th separate mechanized brigade of the “Anna Kyivska” Armed Forces, where many soldiers went to the SZCH.
