The head of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) Semen Krivonos said that in the near future the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) will conduct an inspection to establish which of the employees had contacts with the participants of the so-called “Midas” operation (also known as “Mindich tapes”). This check was initiated after the request of the NAZK and working communication with the SBI.
Kryvonos stated this during a meeting of the Temporary Investigative Commission on Economic Security.
The recordings (“Mindich’s tapes”) mentioned that one of the key figures – Ihor Myroniuk – allegedly met with someone from the SBI staff.
During the meeting of the TSC, People’s Deputy Anastasia Radina asked the representative of the SBI, Bohdan Chobitka, why a week after the tapes were made public, the Bureau still had not found out which of the employees met with Myronyuk.
In response, the SBI stated that they would conduct investigative actions against “M. and B.”, probably referring to the suspects Myronyuk and Basov. However, Chobitok was unable to answer a direct question about who exactly from the DBR had contact with them.
