This was announced by the head of the Department for Combating Crimes Committed in the Conditions of Armed Conflict of the Office of the General Prosecutor Yurii Belousov.

According to him, Russia is actually blackmailing the world community with the possibility of creating famine in other countries. Due to shelling of grain and port infrastructure, a number of countries in Africa and Asia, which received Ukrainian grain, are at risk of existence. Belousov added that Ukraine was considered and still is one of the main suppliers of the World Food Program.

“We singled out two periods of Russia’s attacks on agro-industrial infrastructure linked to the “grain agreement”. “After Ukraine refused the threatening conditions of the aggressor country, the scale of the attacks began to expand. The first target was Odessa and the Odesa region, which has the most powerful and developed infrastructure,” the official emphasized.

Belousov added that since that time, the aggressor country began to use a wide range of different means of attack, including Shahedi, Iskander, tactical aviation, sea and land-based missiles.

“This only indicates that this is a well-coordinated policy of Russia. Completely different types of troops are involved in such attacks. And the decision to carry out attacks simultaneously is made by the highest military-political leadership of the Russian Federation,” the representative of the Prosecutor General’s Office noted.

According to Belousov, the Russian Federation is trying to deprive Ukrainians of their means of livelihood, because the occupiers steal grain, and if they fail, they destroy it.

“Given the scale of such crimes, it is clearly at least a crime against humanity, in a broader perspective – one of the elements of genocide, which is related to the creation of conditions for the physical destruction of a nation. It is about depriving a nation of the conditions for survival, because we know what potential has grain,” the official added.

The theft of Ukrainian grain by the Russian Federation – what is knownEarlier, The Wall Street Journal reported how Russia profits from stolen Ukrainian grain. According to journalists, Moscow trades stolen Ukrainian grain through a Russian company linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and a Crimean businessman who trades with Syria and Israel, and another company sells through the UAE.

At the same time, the spokesman of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk, said that the Russians take Ukrainian grain and other goods to their ports, from where they sell them as their own products. According to him, international carriers are also involved in illegal business.
