Russia actually went into a dead end in the development of Baikal aircraft and does not know what to do with it.

Testing of both flight samples at some stage suspended / screenshotTesting of both flight samples at some stage suspended / screenshotPhotos and videos of flight of the second experimental flight sample of the LMS-901 “Baikal” of the development of the enterprise of UZGA were posted on the network. They drew attention to the Russian CASU channel (the Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technology).

It is worth saying that these are not the first photos of the second experimental flight sample LMS-901. Previously, photos of the aircraft were presented during a ground demonstration.

It should also be noted that the aircraft made the first flight in 2024, but apparently, it is still unpainted.

The trials of both flight samples at some stage were suspended and transferred to the aircraft for revision, as they decided to equip them with new Russian components.

LMS -901 “Baikal” – What is knownA light multi-purpose turboprop aircraft designed to replace the morally outdated AN-2 nicknamed “Corn”. They want to use it for local air lines.

Baikal first climbed into the sky in 2022. LMS-901 mass production was planned to start last year, however, these plans are not relevant for a long time.

The fact is that during the development and trials they gave themselves the nobility numerous basic disadvantages of the aircraft. One of them is too high the price of “Baikala”. The project was even planned to be closed at some stage, but it seems to be ongoing.
