Russian troops have significant problems with evacuating the wounded due to a lack of armored vehicles and the threat of drone strikes. This leads to increased mortality among wounded soldiers, according to a new report by the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain UNN.

Details

According to the report, on November 14, the Russian independent news agency “Astra” reported that dozens of wounded Russian soldiers staged a riot in Novosibirsk due to insufficient medical care. Soldiers from the Central Military District’s 41st Combined Arms Army reportedly complained of being mistreated by their unit commander and did not want to return to the front without proper medical care. They are said to have broken windows and damaged the barracks, and 10 people left the area.

The lack of armored vehicles and the threat of using unmanned aerial vehicles lead to significant delays in the evacuation of wounded Russian soldiers. This almost certainly increases the likelihood of more serious injuries and deaths among those who are eventually evacuated through the medical system

According to the Ukrainian General Staff, since February 2022, Russia has suffered more than 700,000 casualties, of which about 500,000 Russian servicemen were wounded.

As emphasized by the British Ministry of Defense, it is safe to say that such scale of losses continues to create a burden on the Russian military medical system at all levels of medical care, causing significant problems with logistics and leading to a shortage of medical personnel. These problems are likely to persist for at least the next three months, according to British intelligence.
