According to the information of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the night of January 17 (from 7:00 p.m. on January 16), the enemy fired two Iskander-M ballistic missiles (launched from the Rostov region), and also attacked with 50 Shahed-type strike UAVs and simulator drones of different types from five directions: Millerovo, Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Russian Federation.
The air attack was repulsed by anti-aircraft missile forces, units of electronic defense systems, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
As of 09:00, the downing of 33 “Shahed” type UAVs and other types of UAVs in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Mykolaiv and Odesa regions was confirmed. 9 enemy drone simulators – lost in location (without negative consequences), 1 more UAV left the airspace of Ukraine in the direction of Romania
As noted, it was recorded that enemy strike drones hit enterprises in Odesa region, and as a result of downed enemy UAVs, buildings of institutions, private enterprises and households were damaged in Kharkiv region, Cherkasy region, and Kyiv region.
