WBC president Mauricio Suleiman explained why Terence Crawford was stripped of his middleweight belt.
The official denies that the reason was Crawford’s refusal to pay a mandatory contribution of several million dollars.
“Crawford went down a different weight and had the fight of the century with Alvarez, making $50 million or so. And he should not give 3% of the amount of WBC. Everything was known in advance – 0.6% or 300 thousand dollars. It’s just a shame.”
