“For me, the victory plan is linear and it goes through three stages. The first is short-term. And in the short-term perspective, we must support Ukraine financially, militarily and politically. This support must continue and increase,” he said.
The second phase could take three to six months, Stubb said. He noted that Ukraine should be brought to the negotiating table with the Russian Federation when it is ready.
“What should be done in these three to six months. I think they have already said where to start. Ukraine should start negotiations, whatever they are and whenever they are, from a position of strength. No negotiations can take place without Ukraine “, – emphasized the President of Finland.
Stubb believes that the third stage of Ukraine’s victory plan will be the restoration of the country’s territorial integrity. He noted that it is especially important to preserve the independence and sovereignty of Ukraine.
“Ukraine must become a member of the EU and a member of NATO. This is the only way to defeat Vladimir Putin,” the Finnish president summarized.
