The President awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine Kombrig “Luti”, who died in an accident

President Volodymyr Zelensky posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to the commander of the united assault brigade of the National Police of Ukraine “Lyut” Maxim Kazban, according to the official website of the Presidential Office.

“For personal courage and heroism, revealed in the protection of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people,” – stated in the decree of President No. 551/2025.

Police Colonel Maxim Kazban was awarded the title Hero of Ukraine with awarding the Order of the Golden Star.

Earlier it became known that in a traffic accident in Donetsk region, the commander of the united assault brigade of the National Police of Ukraine “Lyuta” Maxim Kazban was killed, in the evening of July 22, the head of the National Police Ivan Vygivsky, calling it “irreparable loss in our police.”

The assault brigade “Lyuta” is a combat unit of defense forces of Ukraine, formed from law enforcement officers. She participated in many battles of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war, in particular in the summer offensive of 2023, freeing up part of the territory of Donetsk region.
