The President awarded an honorary title to the brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

“The decision was made with the aim of restoring the historical traditions of the national army, taking into account the exemplary performance of assigned tasks during the protection of the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine””, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded an honorary title to 65 separate mechanized brigades of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is stated in the corresponding decree No. 861/2024 published on the website of the head of state.

In accordance with the decree, the president decided to award the 65th separate mechanized brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine the honorary name “Veliky Lug” and in the future to call it the 65th separate mechanized brigade “Veliky Lug” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to Decree No. 861/2024, “the decision was made with the aim of restoring the historical traditions of the national army, taking into account the exemplary performance of assigned tasks during the protection of the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine.”

On November 12, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a resolution on the introduction of a transfer mechanism between military units at the initiative of servicemen. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the mechanism was developed in cooperation between civil society, the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and transfers will work through the “Army+” application.

The difficulty of voluntary transfers in the army has been repeatedly reported. In July, a petition was registered on the website of the President’s Office regarding the regulation of the practically impossible procedure for the transfer of servicemen between units of the Defense Forces. However, the appeal did not receive the necessary support for consideration.
