“Operatives of the Department of Criminal Investigation of the National Police received information that a group of people is operating on the territory of Ukraine, the members of which have established a criminal business – the sale of firearms captured and lost during hostilities. The organizer of the group turned out to be a 43-year-old resident of Poltava Oblast,” – said the NPU.

Therefore, according to established information, the investigators of the Chief Investigative Department of the NPU, under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s Office, started criminal proceedings under part 1 of Article 263 (Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
As noted, the employees of the NPU DKR and the Criminal Investigation Department of the Kirovohrad Oblast police documented the fact of the illegal sale of 12 automatic weapons and more than 1,000 cartridges. The defendants estimated the value of their goods at 820,000 hryvnias.
With the force support of the soldiers of the KORD special unit, in cooperation with the police of Kyiv and Poltava Oblast, operatives and investigators of the National Police conducted a series of authorized searches at the residences of the members of the group and in their cars on the territory of the capital, Poltava and Kyiv Oblast.
