The owner of the Russian cargo ship Ursa Major, which sank in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Spain, declared a “terrorist attack” on the ship. This is reported by the Russian mass media with reference to the statement of the Oboronlogistika company, which owns the ship, reports UNN.

Details

According to Oboronlogistics, three explosions occurred from the starboard side of the Ursa Major. They caused the accident.

Addition

According to official information, the ship Ursa Major was transporting port cranes, and the destination was supposed to be Vladivostok. However, as indicated in the CSDP at the National Security Council, in May 2022, the United States imposed sanctions against the Ursa Major due to the vessel’s participation in the transportation of military equipment for the Russian troops in Syria.

Presumably, in fact, Ursa Major could be transporting Russian weapons from Syria.

We will remind

The Russian dry cargo ship “Ursa Major” sank in international waters between Spain and Algeria on December 23. 14 sailors managed to be saved, they were transported to the nearest Spanish port. Two more people who were on the ship are missing. According to Spanish media, there was an explosion on the ship.
