Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, stated that there is currently no plan for ending the war, which would include freezing the conflict, ceasing fire or handing over some territories to Russia. He said this on the air of the TV channel “Nastoyaschee vremya” (created by Radio Liberty with the participation of “Voice of America”).

“The president has repeatedly spoken about this, it is a clearly dominant position: no freezing of the conflict, because it will not lead to the end of the war as such, but will only lead to Russia getting the opportunity to accumulate additional resources and continue the third stage of the mass killings of the civilian population in Ukraine. Therefore, of course, there are no concepts of ceding territories, there are no concepts of freezing the conflict,” he said.

Podolyak emphasized that there is only one official position of Kyiv: the war must end with the defeat of Russia.

“The defeat of the Russian Federation can be ensured with a certain amount of weapons as such. That is, roughly speaking, military, diplomatic, economic and political coercion, he says. – Plus the Kursk operation, which shows that it is really possible to work effectively, including on the territory of Russia, bringing there and escalating the war there.”

According to Mykhailo Podoliak, the Kursk operation appears in the “victory plan” of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

“This will significantly affect those social attitudes, first of all, which exist in Russia. Secondly, it will put significant pressure on Putin’s entourage and lead to the end of this war,” he said.

According to the adviser to the head of the OP, the Western allies are interested in the fact that international law dominates, but for this there must be tactical or strategic defeats of Russia, since everything else will only lead to escalation.

“Just the wrong ending to this war will lead to an escalation of the situation not only in Eastern Europe, but also in Europe as a whole, and this is obvious to our Western allies,” says Podolyak. – Another issue is the bureaucracy, the speed of decision-making, the willingness to really stop hiding behind these mythical “red lines”, or rather, think about them, and so on. The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said the day before that Ukraine’s “victory plan” in the war with Russia is more than 90% ready, and next week it will be presented to the allies.
